Is it Okay to chew gum?

Chewing gum is a type of sweets that are not swallowed, but chewed for a few or a dozen minutes. Chewing gum in most cases consists of gum, sweeteners, coating ingredients, wax and flavors, and dyes. When choosing a gum with oral hygiene in mind, choose wisely. Abstain from sugar-containing gums, instead of having a beneficial effect on the oral cavity, they can aggravate symptoms, change the pH of saliva and, consequently, be one of the causes of tooth decay.

When choosing a gum, pay attention to its composition. Try to choose a gum enriched with xylitol. This way you will take care of your teeth and reduce the risk of caries. Do not chew gum for too long. Routine, long hours of chewing gum can put a heavy strain on the muscles of the face and jaw, leading to their growth or weakening of bone structures. Do not exceed the doses of gum, too much is not healthy, also in this case. If chewing helps you relieve stress, that's fine, but don't overdo it with pills.

Chewing gums (sugar-free!) helps keep your teeth and mouth healthy and restores the correct pH after a meal. The most effective are those sweetened with xylitol, which inhibits the growth of bacteria that cause enamel damage and bad breath. Chewing xylitol gum reduces oral bacteria by up to 75% .
